realms--planes
Realms
Realms are sets of Planes that share similar properties and originate from the same causes. Beings cannot typically travel freely across realms, as their core properties are not relatable. The typical person in the Prime Realm is an intricate assembly of elements from the Inner Realm. To the Outer Realm, they are but a soul.
Inner Realm
When reality was instantiated, the Inner Realm was created. The Fundamental Forces materialized as their elemental equivalents. Their raw power quickly separated them like unequal thermal air systems into individual planes:
- Water
- Air
- Earth
- Fire
- Positive
- Negative
Prime Realm
Interactions between the Inner Realm planes created a new order, or Realm, of planes:
- Ethereal Plane – A link to the Inner Realm
- Prime Material Plane
- Feywild – A saturated and highly contrasted rendition of the Prime Material
- Shadowfell – A dark rendition of the Prime Material
- Astral Plane – A link to the Outer Realm
Outer Realm
As Mortals, Titans, and Deities grew in the Prime Realm, these lifeforms created new, unnatural planes—the Outer Realms:
- Hell – The realm of Devils
- Abyss – The realm of Demons
Numerical Plane Terminology
- First Planes – The initial Inner and Prime Realm planes, created naturally by the Fundamental Forces.
- Second Planes – The Outer Realm planes and some Demi and Pocket Planes within the Inner and Prime Realms, created by the First Deities and other powerful beings.
- Third Planes – Some Demi and Pocket Planes within any realm, created by lifeforms subsequent to the First Deities.
