After The Fall, the book begins to loose it’s ability to teach mortals how to be come titans, and titans to gods. This is because the Wardens severed the loop of time and the thread is drifting further from it’s initial conditions.

Those that already have ascended are decimated when many are unable to adapt to the changing landscape of emergent properties of reality.

Many die or lose much of their power.

The Three Titans retain all their abilities as they were only just learning when the direction began drifting. They learned the theory from the book while they studied the practice throughout their adventure. They are the first titans raised in this new environment.
