In ancient times, before the empires, a group of hired thugs, thieves, assassins flourished.

Their leader, Darkest of Shadows, follows The Silence, a deity seeking to end all of life, seeing the balance of life will be suffering. Lives do not matter, so they take on any work that helps build their army and preferably kills people. Individuals rise amongst the greater ranks for their belief that (innate or instilled) all life is best extinguished.

When The Darkest of Shadows attacked Shaa Thalas and was petrified, the Shadow Army fell apart.

The Words

Spoken to you by your guide as you descended into the darkness, these words follow you. Reminding you: through all your struggles that ultimately, victory is guaranteed.

Under brilliant rainbows, shadows remain Light in array, Darkness the same
