Description
A young, inexperienced-yet-talented wizard.
Daughter in a well known elven family that lives in Andes. Her great-grand father was a powerful wizard and Fayeth is the first descendent since to have the gift of magic. Was sent to the Hall of Robes in Sump to study her craft. The Hall of Robes owed a favor to Garland, or Darrio’s Exchange generally. Garland called it in to send a promising pupil for some work he has.
A quiet and unassuming young high elf enters the parlor of Darrio’s Exchange. She awkwardly stands in the doorway with mixed feelings of excitement and worry that she will be disappointed. This is her destination - a place with endless knowledge and curiosities to research. At least…that is what she was led to believe. She looks back at her time as a teen…when her family saw her potential and sent her off to the Hall of Robes in the Sump - one of the few places to study the ways of magic. What an opportunity to become a wizard! She studied and studied to master each new spell and explore all of the schools of magic. She eventually found her calling within the school of abjuration - wards and shields came naturally to her…perhaps out of a need to protect others.
But in spite of finding her mastery…she couldn’t help but feel stagnant. The wizards of the Hall were narrow-minded and limited in their knowledge. While also being arrogant and set in their ways. When one of the elders offered her a trip to the north, to be an emissary of the Sump - she jumped at the chance to travel and discover far more than what they could offer. Now here she is…at this great tower, full of wondrous items. Left waiting at the door for someone to greet her. This has got to be better than the Sump, right?
Motivation The Hall of Robes in the Sump is a single school, but Fayeth wants a larger guild that spreads the knowledge of magic everywhere.
Family
Fayeth’s family has a nice house in the capital. Her great-grandfather was a powerful wizard that came to serve directly in King Azada Wel the First’s court. Elarion, Fayeth’s father, continues the legacy of serving the kingdom in court as a head of infrastructure. He doesn’t interface with the king directly, rather he’s about two rungs down the ladder. He’s seen Azada the Third before, been in the same room once- but your father takes his duties seriously and serves the king earnestly.
Her brother would be very well off in his own right as a successful man of business. Faelar is respected, wealthy, and everything thier shifty cousin Valerius wants to be but isn’t. Aeriel, the grandmother, putters around the house, grouching and scoffing. She unfortunately leaves the house less and less at her age.
Elarion (Father, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, pragmatic) Lyraeth (Mother, Socialite, elegant, a bit vapid) Faelar (Brother, business leader, polished, protective, skeptical) Aeriel (Grandmother, Matriarch, blunt, sardonic) Valerius (Cousin, Fringe Businessman, smooth, opportunistic)
