Description

Born in the clutch that Habushu attacked, he left the caves after and came upon Balian.

Balian took the naive Kriv under his wing and taught him about the surface world, and his god.

Kriv is still a bit ignorant to the world in a naïve way. He thinks people are flawed creatures that need to be shown by the righteous gods how to behave. It is a mortal, Habushu, and a dragon that led to the massacre of his clutch.

Balian sees this ignorance of the greyness of the world as a weakness that Kriv can only overcome by experiencing it more than he would if he stuck with old Balian. And so, Balian sends him off. Kriv gifts him a necklace then goes off on his own.

In his adventures with Drowac and Gimble, he sees that people can have good hearts on their own, even if not fashioned after a god. After The Fall and losing his god, Kriv comes to terms with a vital truth, the gods are just nearly embodied ideals that anyone can hold. The gods are not morally important on their own, it’s the people that matter most.
