Serene Nightingale is a young half-elven singer from Gallyway and the niece of Thexidor. Defiant toward those in power and somewhat toxic to those around her, she is driven by ambition — which she frames as a mission to unite the regions through shared culture.

Ambitions

Where Silverside sought to make Gallyway the capital of Zatar, Serene’s aspirations are broader: she wants to connect Zatar and Andes through art and diplomacy. Her talent and charisma give her a real chance at bridging the cultural divide between the two powers.

Relationship with Silverside

Silverside dragged Serene along on his trips with Thexidor, treating her less as family and more as a political asset. He felt no particular attachment to her beyond her usefulness as a bargaining chip — particularly if Leo expressed interest, which could leverage a trade agreement between Caspin and Gallyway.

The Exchange

During The Exchange in Caspin, Serene bonded with Leo after the two escaped a heavy rainstorm during the festivities. She attended the Purple Circle alongside Silverside and Thexidor, visibly unimpressed by Silverside’s self-coronation as Maharaja.
