Description

Located on the furthest outreach of Highridge, the Highridge Mine was the primary economic engine of the city, producing metals and precious gems (notably emeralds). Overseen by Herman Correy (who logged the ore and funneled gems to his brother’s shop, Gem of Zatar), the mine was notoriously dangerous. It prioritized profit over the safety of the dwarven laborers who poured in at daybreak and left exhausted at night to rest at the Rock Bottom Tavern.

During the Shadows Campaign, drow forces pushed up from the Underdark through these mines, leading to a bloody stalemate with the surviving citizens barricaded in the dungeon. The mines were later reopened under pressure from Tir na Nog.
