Economy
By the year 3699, Sump’s economy has faced a complete collapse. Many of its citizens have been reduced to a simple barter system just to survive. Despite this, Sump remains a regional hub of magic for the confederacy, which still manages to bring in some desperately needed magical goods and trade.
Government
By the year 3699, formal governance has completely deteriorated. Martep successfully usurped control of Sump from Kiviak. Previously the General of the Militia (which was completely torn to shreds during the battles for power), Martep now operates essentially as a gangster who strong-arms the locals. He maintains very little actual control; crime runs rampant, the citizens experience no stability, and ancient institutions have begun to fall apart completely.
Religion
Temples throughout Sump have generally been smashed into ruins following the various coups and internal fighting, with very few exceptions like Luz.
