Sociopath, driven

A sociopath, driven by her desire to become the avatar of darkness by any means necessary.

Killing can be fun, she has no problem at all with it. The combat is thrilling and destroying your foe to solve problems is convenient.

Doesn’t care for The Darkest of Shadow’s spouting on about their ultimate goal coming from empathy, just wants to see the shadowfel destroyed.

Early Years

Was training in the dark army. A good fighter but needed to accept mentorship. Refused.

18 Years Old: Falling into the Shadowfel

One night she is separated from her patrol and pulled into the Shadowfel by a strange creature.  She fights it off and escapes from it’s clutches, but is lost in this dark mirrored realm.

Surrounded by undead in a hostile environment, she grows hungery and thirsty. She is forced to scrounge around and finds she can be sustained by puddles of liquid shadow, as it somehow reinvigorates her.  Consuming this leaves her changed, though.  A small piece of her mortal coil is stripped from her each time she feasts.

20 Years Old: The Shadowfel Lord’s Army

Eventually, she found a place within the realm, even gaining renown for her tenacity.

The Shadowfel made her stronger, but stripped more of her humanity away in order to survive. What is left of her identity wants to destroy the realm for the misery it caused her.

23 Years Old: Returns to Material Plane

It takes her another month to find the army, over which time she forages for food, but finds that it gives little sustenance.  Her skin is cold to the touch, and she hungers far less often. Slaying some beasts along her travels, she finds that their deaths give her strength…and ecstasy.  She finds that she can manipulate the shadows, and even call upon the elements - through this new power that she siphons from living things. The legions claim that she is now half-dead, and titled the Shadow Knight.

She had a meteoric rise right to the upper echelon. The foot soldiers whispered her tale as she walked past. She let them. The officers prodded her for details. She ignored them.

30 1/2 Years old: The Shadows

Tellani is selected for the Attack on Shaa Thalas but dies in the mission. She is resurrected 3000 years later due to the fall.

The shadow army is gone. The Silence is weakening and her avatar is stuck in a blade. Tellani sees this as an opportunity. She wants to kill the Darkest of Shadows, the current avatar. She will bargain with The Silence:

• With the current avatar dead, a new one can be selected
• Tellani has served well for years, proven her strength. She should be the next avatar.
• But, Tellani will only do it to destroy the Shadowfel. It will still relieve suffering, to The Silence’s desires. The Silence could use a win right now, after The Fall (Tellani doesn’t actually know this part because she’s not aware of The Wardens).

Rising from the dead, Tellani’s thirst from the Shadowfel has come to her on the material plane. She has to drink some life essence of sufficient richness to quench her thirst. This thirst gets worse as time goes on. She requires near constant killing and it becomes unsustainable. Drinking Lorzen’s, she becomes addicted to how fully that satisfied her thirst, even if temporarily. She wants to kill each of the Drow Elite and drink their essence. She wants to eat The Vigor itself, to drink the juices pure.

When it came down to grabbing the ebony blade or going for The Vigor, she choose The Vigor.

Instead of spiraling into madness of trying to drink more life essence, Tellani’s thirst is forever quenched by the power of the Vigor’s restorative properties. She returns to a saner state of mind over a period of time and is able to refocus on getting the ebony blade- but Los has disappeared with the blade and things are more complicated now.

She returns to her initial ambition of killing the Darkest of Shadows, taking her place as avatar, then using that to destroy the Shadowfel.
