Description

Tim’s Origin Hatched from same clutch Habushu discovered. At ~3 years old, the clutch was released. His parents died in the battle against Habushu. Nero re-homed the child through the Men of Hidden Honor.

Alaric Adoptive father, Alaric, was a man of hidden honor amongst Darrio’s ranks. Nero gave Alaric the babe after the battle with Habushu. This baby was unique in its amazing power, unspecified color, and the ability to appear as other forms of life. Alaric broke away from Darrio, squirreling away outside Caspin to protect and hide the Dragonborn infant. His father was known by city scouts to be a hermit. They had an understanding to leave him alone and there wasn’t much reason to really interact with him. Alaric never taught him about dragonborn, and Tim hadn’t seen any in his upbringing in seclusion. Tim grew up thinking it was his sorcerer powers that allowed him to mask his identity.

Alaric’s Disappearance Darrio had tracked Alaric long ago, but left him alone out of respect. Garland, however, taking over Darrio’s position, needed Alaric back to build strength against the Lich’s increasing army. Garland was able to build a better version of the anti-magic cuffs and used them to capture Alaric. Alaric did not want Tim involved with Garland as this new guy was unknown to him. He hasn’t spoken of Tim to Garland. Garland found Alaric, used a re-engineered version of the anti-magic cuffs to imprison him into servitude. Despite the bumpy start of the relationship, upon hearing what Garland wanted Alaric to do, Alaric agreed with the cause and began working in earnest.

Story Arc

Looking for his father, discovering he is dragonborn, finding his father dead in the Vigilant Mortal base outside Ravensburg, learning he comes from Habushu’s clutch, how Nero delivered him to his father, and turning into a dragon.

• Presents as a human to others; his sorcerer powers conceal his true dragonborn identity.
• Exposed his dragonborn nature with a breath weapon during the Gold Star goat incident at The Exchange.
• Found his father Alaric dead in the Vigilant Mortal hideout, slain by the undead officer Jacoby.

The Awakening

After the party slew Andes (the last of the first dragons), Tim felt a release of pressure from deep inside. He experienced visions of Habushu’s army entering a cave of dragonborn, slaying his people, and a small infant dragon hidden beneath rubbish by its guards.

The Salt Mercenaries found the babe, seeing only a small red dragonborn. Upon seeing soft-skinned people, the infant changed shape to mimic them. Nero scooped the baby up and later brought him to Alaric to hide until he was ready.

Tim’s body grew rapidly into a young red dragon. The change felt natural — for the first time since he was 3, he felt a deep sense of comfort in his body. Stretching his wings, he launched into the air, circled the island, and breathed a powerful stream of fire. Wondering how many other dragons had emerged, he flew off into the distance in search of them.
